This is the final selection of images for my graduating portfolio of still lives called “Sugar High”, which was inspired by a pre-teen sleepover gone wrong, mixed with this quote by Wolfgang Tillmans : ”As soon as you represent something, it’s always a mediated, invented situation. What is genuine, though, is the desire for authenticity. So, absurdly enough, that’s something that actually is authentic about this moment. Personally speaking, I feel somewhat post-authentic.” As always I tried to explore certain aspects of femininity through these photographs, focusing this time mainly on girlhood, grooming and puberty/rites of passage.I have to say it took me a while to get comfortable with shooting objects in the studio - obviously I had done it before many times for school but when it comes to personal work, I am used to working mostly with people & natural light, so this was a completely new approach for me… I got frustrated a first because I’m a total perfectionist when it comes to color and composition, and I couldn’t make the objects look exactly the way I wanted them to, so in the end I decided to just let them speak for themselves. I have to say I am pretty happy with the results.A selection of limited edition large photo prints of these images will be available on my etsy store over the next few days/weeks.(you can view these larger via my blogspot)
Help I don’t understand what it means
Compressed Air Stores Green Energy
Enough Northwest wind energy to power about 85,000 homes each month could be stored in porous rocks deep underground for later use, according to a new, comprehensive study. Researchers at the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Bonneville Power Administration identified two unique methods for this energy storage approach and two eastern Washington locations to put them into practice.
Compressed air energy storage plants could help save the region’s abundant wind power — which is often produced at night when winds are strong and energy demand is low — for later, when demand is high and power supplies are more strained. These plants can also switch between energy storage and power generation within minutes, providing flexibility to balance the region’s highly variable wind energy generation throughout the day.

What happens when you give a Mario piano score to someone who’s never heard it in his life?
Almost every self-proclaimed ragtime pianist I’ve ever met has been a total sightreading genius. I guess it’s also a thing that they have tons of experience having people throw them music and playing it right then and there.
